The Town Mill
The Town Mill, one of the many jewels in the Lyme Regis crown, celebrated a very special day this week when the new Hydro-Electric scheme was switched on by local schoolchildren. Nomad chatted with some of those involved in the event, including Fred Thomson and Kevin Benfield from the Town Mill, Ron Coatsworth from West Dorset District Council, Ken Whetlor, Mayor of Lyme Regis, and Fiona from You & Yours, BBC Radio 4. Was a beautiful sunny morning, and all credit to those who put so much work and effort into putting Lyme Regis on the map with this very special merging of old technology with the new, producing green energy which besides providing power to the Mill itself, will generate an income by providing power to the National Grid.
